Expanded enrollment in higher education results in the increased number of college graduates every year. With more and more college graduate entering the job market, the employment of college graduates is increasingly grim, and it has become the core problem which related to country competitiveness and national development strategies. However the employment problem of college graduates is not only about the increasing number, but also closely linked to lack of employability of graduates. How to improve the employability of graduates is a common concerned topic to the Government, the community and the University. However the existing research on employability and employment problem of college graduates are more from a macroscopic perspective of the national and community, there has been little research from the perspective of individual action of college graduates.Factors that influencing the employability are complex, which consists of an individual’s gender, educational background, professional standards, practice abilities, job-hunting performance, job wishes, ideology and so on. From Parsons’ social action theory perspective, This research assumes that the employability of college graduates is forming under a specific system, through series of action. That is to say that the employability of college graduates strength, the achievement of employment target, selection of ways to improve employability, the employment concept, are all depends on the affection of many integrated factors, like the action environment, action conditions and the means could be taken. Then further, from the theoretical level, this research analyses the restrictions in improving employability, available means, and the effect of achieving employment goals, and finally study their action logic. So that we can take employment action as entrance, through Parsons’ social action theory, to better understands the social actions and social actions system in our countryDuring the research, we aim at exploring the employability of college graduates and its influence factors, with perspective of Parsons’ social action theory, and refer to the Roseville four-dimensional employability model, established the research dimension and the evaluation methods for employability in this paper. With widely collected data through the questionnaire survey, we carried out descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, and nonparametric tests, etc. Find the following main conclusions:1. Actors’ improvement on employability through appropriate means has significant positive correlation to achievement of employment goals.2different means have significantly different effect on enhancing employability, there are obvious "threshold effect" and "tenth effect".3. Transformations between action condition and action means can happen under individuals’efforts.4. Norms have multi-layered binding employment action5. Social Action system has systematic function, employment-warning mechanism based on Social Action Theory is actionable and valuable.
