Whether an individual can gain employment, especially first employment, is affected by many aspect factors. But in a given condition, employability is one of important factors.This thesis study on the employment problems of university graduates and the job hutting process, try to figure out how the employability works during the process of finding a job, and what the indicators system of university graduates employability. Furthermore, develop an employability scale to offer guidance for students who try to make self-cultivation and universities when providing career plan guidance and employment consultation.First of all, based on painstaking literature review of graduates'employament problem and employability mechanism, this thesis gives a definition of "university graduates employability". And integrate existing theory and practice research results with semi-structured interview results of 10 employed graduates to epurate employability indexs. Then this thesis conducted a survey to get importance evaluation data from 121 enterprises recruiters to screening the indexs and get indexs' definitions from 20 recruiters among them to establish university graduates employability'indexs system.And then, based on the index system, this thesis develops a self-evaluation employability scale for university graduates. And random selected students from engineering institute of NJUST investigated with the scale to get data for potential structure exploration by EFA. Meanwhile acquiring data of their employment status (find a work or not) and employment quality (degree of employment satisfaction) to validate the scale's validity.This thesis gets the following conclusions:(1) University graduates employability' indexs system including 25 indexs, and initiative, team consciousness, responsibility, communication ability, diligence and goal orientation are especially important. (2) The employability scale has good reliability and validity, and principally measured graduates employability manifestation on 4 elements:interpersonal communication, analysis and plan, active adaptation and responsibility bearing.
