According to the new curriculum standards, teachers are required to use the teaching materialcreatively with learning need and the present level of students, in order to satisfy the differentstudents and match different teaching situation, as well as improve the teaching efficiency. And textrestructure fully reflects the creative use of teaching material. It demands teachers to restructure theoriginal text based on the material and students. So as to form a new text with an concrete situation.The significance of text restructure lies in getting students to learn and use English in a richer andmore meaningful language surrounding, so as to improve their learning efficiency. It is not to teachstudents the teaching material, but to teach them with the teaching material.However, many teachers are still confined within the original text, even teach it word by word.In order to further improve the comprehensive language application ability of students, someteachers attempt to restructure the text in their English class, but were still faced with manyproblems due to the lack of the related theories and practical experiences.The dissertation investigates the principles of text restructure considering of both students andtext based on the document summarization, with further using the methods about pedagogics andapplied linguistics, so as to develop the strategies of text restructure.The dissertation may bring out the following outcomes. First, it may help restructure the texteffectively, and improve the teaching effects by exploring the principles and strategies of textrestructure. Second, it may meet the students learning need, improve their interest and developtheir ability in language learning. Third, change the idea of “teach students teaching material” to“teach with the teaching material”, so as to develop teachers’ abilities in teaching.
