A Study On Political Identity Problems Of University Students

Political identity, being a very important aspect on university students’ ideological and political education nowadays, which has a crucial effect on social stability and development, and impacts on the future of Party and Country deeply, relating with the success or failure of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, it can’t be replaced by others for enhancing students’political identity.This thesis concludes the concepts and characters of university students’political identity from its notions and factors. On the basis of questionnaire, it surveys the situation of students’political identity, and analyzes the elements that affect their political identity. It will propose the exact strategy for promote students’political identity and try to enhance their political identity from the reality, which has certain significance of theory and practice.This thesis divides into four chapters:Chapter one:Identify the concepts and characters of university students’political identity, and try to define their concepts of political identity for distinguish them from other groups.Chapter two:Analyze the situation of university students’ political identity on the questionnaire. The result is that most of students, who are with steady faith, patriotic enthusiasm and political responsibility, have positive attitude for political identity. They believe the governance capability of the Chinese Communist Party, recognize our country’s political system, and are almost certain with country’s line, principles and policies. But some of them confuse with these problems.Chapter three:To analyze elements of students’political identity in system, which is from four influence levels:society, university, family and themselves. University students’political personality is on a immature stage, which includes political values, political consciousness, and political psychology. They are also affected by their experience, scholarship and society. Moreover, they experience the conflicts between the new-old ideas through the social transformation. Therefore, there are some problems on their political identity acceptably.Chapter four:Points out the strategy for promote university students’political identity. The first is to do our best to build a harmonious society for encourage students’political identity; the second is that universities enhance the political identity education through various efforts constantly; the third is to construct a harmonious and healthy family environment; the last one is to promote students’own comprehensive capabilities continually.
