Clinical Study Of Tongyang Kuanxiong Granule On Treating The Sap Patients With The Type Of Qi Depression And Phlegm Stasis

ObjectiveThe purpose of this subject was to investigate the impact of Tongyang Kuanxiong granule on treating the patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) which was the type of Qi depression and phlegm stasis. Studying the effect on the TCM syndrome, electrocardiogram(ECG), quality of life and security indices, we objectively evaluated the effectiveness and safety, which could provide more evidences on the clinical application as well as the market promotion for Tongyang Kuanxiong granule.MethodsBy collecting the case report files during April and October 2015 of cardiovascular department of Guangdong second TCM hospital,72 patients with SAP were divided into two groups including treatment group and control group, and there were 36 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional medication (Aspirin, Lipitor, Betaloc) while others in the treatment group were given Tongyang Kuanxiong granule combined with the conventional therapy. And given sublingual nitroglycerin when angina attack. Moreover, the course of treatment on both group was 4 weeks. Then changes of TCM symptom complex scores, angina scores, Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ) scores, ECG, liver function and kidney function were analyzed before and after the medication.Results1. Comparison of TCM syndrome scores before treatment and curative effects on TCM syndrome after treatment:There was no significance on the TCM syndrome scores before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05), which is comparable. In the aspect of the curative effects on TCM syndrome, the total efficacy of treatment group was 94.44% which was superior to the control group with 72.22%, and there was the significance(P<0.05).2. Comparison of angina scores before treatment and curative effects on improving the angina after treatment:There was no statistically significant on the angina scores before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05), which is comparable. For the aspect of the curative effects on improving the angina, it was remarkablely better in the treatment group that was than in the control group. (94.44% vs 72.22%, P<0.05).3. It was notly improving in the ECG of the treatment group than the control group(86.11% vs 69.44%) and there was great significance(P<0.05).4. Evaluating the living quality, there was no statistically different on the SAQ scores before treatment between the two groups (P>0.05), which is comparable. And after the treatment, physical limitation (PL) would be relieved while anginal stability(AS) would be enhanced in both groups. And treatment in each group could reduce anginal frequency (AF) and increase the treatment satisfaction (TS) of patient. Furthermore, it was statistically better in the treatment group than in the control one (P<0.05). Nevertheless, there was no significance in the aspect of disease recognition (DP) in each group before and after therapy (P>0.05).ConclusionTongyang Kuanxiong granule could be used to improve the TCM syndrome of the patients with SAP especially the type of Qi depression and phlegm stasis. Not only could it alleviate the angina pectoris and improve the ischemic ECG manifestation, but also it would raise the quality of life by ameliorating PL, enhancing AS, reducing AF and increasing TS. And it is an effective prescription on treating the SAP and it is worth popularizing application.
