Background:Radiotherapy is the preferred treatment for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and the process of radiotherapy is generally quite long. At the same time when the radiation kills cancer cells, it also causes injuries on the temporomandibu-lar joint and its surrounding muscle, and the exudative reaction occurs, results in soft tissue adhesions and fibrosis contracture and limited joint motion and severely affects the life quality of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Some researches have shown that some side effects such as trismus, neck fibrosiscould be reduced by functional exercise and the higher strength to exercise the mouth opening, the lower degree of the restriction will be. However, due to the reasons that the patients lack correct cognitive on the disease, hold negative attitude towards treatment, pay no attention to the ex-ercise without high enthusiasm, bear the pains brought by side effects of the broken oral mucosa after the radiotherapy, and the health education of nurses is not in place, there lacks dynamic assessment and retraining, the nurse-patients relationship is poor, the family and nurses do not make enough supervision on the functional exercises of patients, the publicity method is single, system is not sound and the exercise actions are complex, so the head and neck functional exercise of patients in hospital during radiotherapy has poor compliance. Therefore, to improve the compliance of function-nal exercise of patients should become an important part of the clinical work of nurses. Further study has found that the quality control circle activities could improve the compliance of functional exercise of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma cancer after radiotherapy. Through the development of deep, vivid, individual and diversified health education and effective trainings, patients could know about the harm of com-plications of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cancer radiotherapy and the importance of the functional exercise of head and neck and master the correct methods. It’s necessary to fully play the urged role of family and patients group. Nurses should be responsible for specific patients and make daily supervision on the completed situation of exercise and improve the compliances of functional exercise of patients so as to improve the rehabilitation level and self-care ability, improve the life quality of patients and also strengthen the nurses-patients cooperation and improve the relationship and the satisfaction degree of patients. Objective:Provide basis for the optimization of health education, improvement of the compliance of functional exercise of patients, life quality and satisfaction degree and the improvement of comprehensive quality of nurses.Materials and methods:The research adopts the quasi-experimental research method to select the radiotherapy patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in the radiotherapy department of our hospital from May 2014 to December 2014 as research objects with total 160 cases, among which males are 122 cases and female are 38 cases. To avoid the contamination between groups within the same department, the radiotherapy patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma before the implementation of intervention measures of quality control circle activities are set as the control group and the radiotherapy patients withnasopharyngeal carcinoma after the implementation of intervention measures of quality control circle activities are set as the experimental group, and there are 80 cases in experimental group (male 60 cases, female 20 cases) and 80 cases in the control group (male 62 cases, female 18 cases). The base line information of the two groups of patients have been examined without difference in terms of age, gender and other statistics tests. The control group adopted traditional health education method and health education of the experimental group was implemented with the quality control circle activities. Taking the self-designed compliance survey form of the functional exercise of the head and neck of the radiotherapy patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, satis-faction degree questionnaire of patients, comprehensive quality evaluation form of nurses, and the life quality evaluation scale form of patients with head and neck tumor developed by the European cancer research and treatment organization (QLQ-H&N35 scale form) to respectively make questionnaire on the two groups patients before and after the implementation of quality control circle activities, and make intervention effects evaluation. Collect and analyze the experimental data and the counting data should be described with frequency and percentages and the measurement data should be described with x±s; compare the satisfaction degree of the two groups, and use the chi-square to test the defects rate of compliance;Use t test to compare the scores of life quality of the two groups patients; Use pair t test to compare the scores of comprehensive quality of nurses.P<0.05 difference has statistics significance.Main Results:The research results showed that the basic situation of the two groups patients has total 9 entries, only for the education degree and primary caretaker, the results had statistics significance (X2=28.972, P<0.05;X2=6.476, P<0.05); the compliance defects rate of the functional exercise of the two groups patients was respectively 60% and 12.5%, the results had statistics significance (X2=39.05, P>0.01) ,the experimental group is better than the control group; the life quality scores of the two groups patients were respectively 53.72±4.28 and 41.07±3.26, the results had statistics significance (t=21.030, P<0.001),the experimental group is better than the control group; the satisfaction degree of the two groups patients were respectively 87.5% and 97.5%, the results had statistics significance (X2=5.77, P<0.05),the experimental group is better than the control group; before and after the implementation of quality control circle activities, the comprehensive quality scores of nurses were respectively 13.6 and 36.2, with the pair t test, the seven entries including "ability to solve problems", "sense of happiness", "enthusiasm", "self-confidence", "responsibi-lity", "communication and coordination skills", "team cohesion", the results had statistics significance (P<0.01).Conclusion:The quality control circle activities have improved the working methods, and made the quality of nursing achieve continuous improvement. It’s not only to improve the comprehensive quality of nurses, but also has enriched the forms of health education, standardized the content of health education, detailed and quantified the excise movements, making it easier for patients to accept and be able to persist in exercises. They have revised the class responsibilities, working procedures and the regulation systems, and completed the supervision and evaluation mechanism of the functional exercise of patients, what’s more important, have improved the compliance of functional exercise of head and neck of radiotherapy patients with pharyngeal cancer and life quality of the patients and the satisfaction degree.
