Bacteria, viruses and other pathogenic microorganism are a threat to human health. Thanks to low prices, quaternary ammonium antimicrobial agent with low toxicity, a broad spectrum antibiotic and other fine features was acclaimed. In this paper, Organic silicon quaternary ammonium salt (OSQAS) and chitosan quaternary ammonium salt (HACC), two of potential antibacterial agents, were combined and characterized of their antibacterial activity. The results was showed, antibacterial test for gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, by establishing MIC values, inhibitory zone diameters and living bacteria colony counting method. The main findings are as follows:1. The results, antibacterial test for gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, showed that the MIC of OSQAS for both E. coli and S. aureus was 0.0324 mg/mL.2. In the antibacterial test for HACC, its MIC of HACC for both E. coli and S.aureus were carried out separately, its MIC for E.coli was 0.07 mg/mL with an antibacterial rate of 99.54%,while was 0.1 mg/mL for S.aureus.3. In the test of the two combined quaternary ammonium salt of their antibacterial activity, it was described that HACC and OSQAS can existed easily in water, The propagation of E.coli was inhibited completely inoculated on the media containing combination of 0.5MICHACC/0.5MICOSQAS, which was treated at 40℃ of water bath for 30 min.. While the combination was 0.67MICHACC/0.67MICOSQAS、0.5MICHACC/MICOSSQAS、 MICHACC/0.5MICOSQAS、MICHACC/MICOSQAS, there were significant differences between the groups of date, it was described that it was effective and material-saving on the media containing combination of 0.5MICHACC/0.5MICOSQAS, and the antibacterial activity was more effective than the one affect, respectively.4. The results, antibacterial test on gram-negative bacteria, showed that, for S.aureus, an antibacterial rate of 99.44% was achieved after inoculated on the combination of 0.67MIC’HACC/0.67MIC’OSQAS.When the proportions of OSQAS on the combination was comparatively high, the colony was pile, it was described that OSQAS was Surfactant, it was not good for antibacterial rate when the proportions of OSQAS was higher.5. In the test of determination of weathering performance, establishing the antibacterial activity of the quaternary ammonium salts, it was described that complex solution of water-soluble and has good high temperature performance, good stability ultraviolet radiation.
