| Perimenopausal, a period between premenopausal and postmenopausal time,refers to a stage when women are undergoing the transition from childbearing sexualmaturity to old age without fertility. The perimenopausal period, including the 2-5 years before menopause, and one year after menopause, it is an important physiological period in the life of women. Women with 2/3 can appear in the perimenopausal syndrome.Objective:The objectives of the study were to describe the current prevalence of the perimenopausal symptoms; to analyze the effects of demographic, social, economic and behavioral factors on the presence of their perimenopausal symptoms and related cognition; to explore the relationship between perimenopausal symptoms and social support; to understand their level of knowledge on reproductive health; to intensifying their healthcare knowledge and social adaptation, promoting their health, improving their life qualities, and conducting targeted health education andintervention.Method:Our study is a cross-sectional study conducted in a community. The voluntary perimenopausal women aged 40 to 60 who had been involved in the gynecological screening between March 2014 and August 2014., we planned to include 1000 women from 6 neighborhood committeesin Yangpu district.A uniform questionnaire was adopted and the investigation was administered among qualified sujects by trained investigators. The content of investigation included: demographic and socio-economic situations,perimenopausal symptoms, score of Kupperman, cognitive status concerning perimenopausal reproductive health (the hormone replacement therapy, healthcare related knowledge and attitude demand for healthcare knowledge) and Social support Rating scale(SSRS).After questionnaire investigation,all the objects then had a gynecological checkup. Database was established with EpiData3.0 Software and data analysis performed using SPSS 13.0 statistical analysis software.Result:In total,1000 women were recruited with 890 completed the questionnairesinterview in the study. The respond rate was 89%.1. The prevalence and distribution of perimenopausal symptoms:609 out of 890 perimenopausal women (68.4%) had perimenopausal symptoms. Hot flash and sweating(51.5%), agrypniosis (50.9%), fatigue(50.3%) joint pain (44.9%), headache (41.9%) are the top 5 common symptoms. Univariate analysis showed that perimenopausal symptoms were related with age and occupation (p< 0.05). Perimenopausal women aged from 50-55, with education under junior school, retired or laid-off, or with low SES had higher prevalence of perimenopausal symptoms. The menstrual, sexual satisfaction, health status and social support were also related to the occurrence of perimenopausal symptoms(p<0.05). The multivariate analysis showed that employ status, sexual satisfaction and menopausal status were related to the occurrence of perimenopausal.2. The perimenopausal reproductive health knowledge and health care demands: Only 16 (1.8%) of the perimenopausal respondents were using or had hormone replacement therapy (HRT).39.6% chosed workmate/friend and 27.7% chosed newspaper/magazine and as the main methods to obtain healthcare knowledge. Women who are in the perimenopausal period are considered to be in need of a gradual increase in the proportion of health education, which is considered to be less need to increase the proportion of health education.3. The prevalence of gynecological diseases:The total prevalence of gynecological diseases in the perimenopausal respondents was 75.7%. The most common disease was Senile vaginitis ranked uterine, the prevalence was 20.78%. uterine fibroid the second, the prevalence is 16.29%.Conclusion:1. The prevalence of perimenopausal symptoms in community perimenopausal women is high, which has severely affected the physical and mental well being of perimenopausal women. In addition to biological treatment, health education and psychological intervention are necessary in the health care for perimenopausal women.2. The symptoms of menopause women in peri menopausal women were related to occupation, menopause age, number of births and sexual life satisfaction. Can see that the symptoms of peri menopausal symptoms in addition to endocrine related, but also with the culture, family, marriage and physical conditions, and so on. Therefore, the treatment of peri menopausal symptoms should be treated with biological psychological social medical model as a whole.3. The prevalence rate of gynecological diseases in women in peri menopausal period was the highest, followed by uterine fibroids.4. Women’s health knowledge is weak in the peri menopausal period, strengthening the education form of the elderly women in the development, improving the quality of life of women, extending the life of women... |
