Objective:This study aims to investigate and analyze the status quo of the KAP of primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD about CPR, discuss the influence factors of KAP and provide a basic theory for the future CPR training that for primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD.Methods:Totally 156 primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD from the department of cardiology of 5 level 3A-class hospitals in Taiyuan were recruited by convenience sampling method and were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire.The SPSS software, version17, was used to establish the database and analyze the data.Results:1. 156 questionnaires were distributed, and 150 effective questionnaires were taken back. The effective recovery rate was 96.15%.2. 88.0% of the primary caregivers have heard of CPR, 17.3% of the primary caregivers have received systematic CPR skills training, and 74.7% of the primary caregivers said they would like to take the free CPR training classes.3.The average scores of CPR knowledge,attitude and practice were 9.73±4.72,23.03±2.93 and 28.24±4.67, respectively.4.Pearson correlation analysis showed that there were positive correlation between knowledge and attitude(r=0.205, P<0.205), knowledge and practice(r=0.393, P<0.393),attitude and practice(r=0.404, P<0.01).5.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that CPR knowledge scores affected by primary caregivers’ residence, occupation, relationship with the patient, whether encountered the occasion of emergency rescue and whether received systematic CPR training; CPR attitude scores affected by primary caregivers’ education; CPR practice scores affected by primary caregivers’ gender, age, relationship with the patient,knowledge scores and attitudes scores.Conclusions:1.Very few primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD participated in CPR training, so that it is difficult to play first responder’s role. However, demands of CPR training is large.2.The level of KAP of overall primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD about CPR is low. It’s need to be improved.3.Positive correlations are presented in each two of the following factors: knowledge,attitude and practice.4.The level of KAP of primary caregivers of hospitalized patients with CHD about CPR is affected by the following factors: CPR knowledge scores affected by primary caregivers’ residence, occupation, relationship with the patient, whether encountered the occasion of emergency rescue and whether received systematic CPR training; CPR attitude scores affected by primary caregivers’ education; CPR practice scores affected by primary caregivers’ gender, age, relationship with the patient, knowledge scores and attitudes scores.
