ObjectiveTo investigate current status and influencing factors of nurses’ the work family conflict and career status; The relationship of nurses’ the work family conflict and career status;How nurses feel with work family conflict in their daily life.The purpose is to make nurses paid less attention to the stress which brought by with work family,maintain their physical and mental health, promote the development of their career and stable nurses’ team.MethodsEmploy the method of quantitative study composed with qualitative study.A total number of 267 nurses were recruited from May to October in 2014 by stratified convenient cluster sampling method from four grade-3 class-A hospitals in NanChang.They were investigated with a self-designed demographic questionnaire,Work-Family Conflict Scale(WFCQ),Career Status Evaluation Scale.Questionnaire data collected the establishment of a database application SPSS18.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.10 nurses were interviewed by purposive sample on the basis of prophase research.Results(1)The total score of WFCQ was(51.10±8.82),and the score of work-family conflict(29.36±5.68).In the direction of work interfere with family,the score successively was time-based conflict,behavior-based conflict and stress-based conflict;In the direction of family interfere with work,the score successively was stress-based conflict,behavior-based conflict and time-based conflict.The total score of Career Status Evaluation Scale is(75.71±12.56).The dimension score was Professional attitudes(67.55%),Career satisfaction(59.84%),Organizational commitment(64.60%),Retention willing(94.60%).(2)It’s statistic significant of differences in with work family of nurses with hospital size,age,initial degree,department, working age, marital status, the number of live together home, the number of children and the number of old people who need totake care of.It’s statistic significant of differences in career status of nurses is :hospital grade,the title and working age.(3)Factors effecting nurses’ the work family conflict are:hospital grade,age,department,marital status,the number of old people who need to take care of.Factors effecting nurses’ career status are:hospital grade,working age.(4)There has a negative correlation between work family conflict with its six dimensions and career status.The main factors to career status of nurses are:hospital size,title,department,time-based WIF conflict and strain-based WIF conflict,which can explain 35.3% of total variance.(5)Results of work and family relationship in clinical nurses are:①The performance of work and family positive spillovers-work-family enrichment:Medical background and the family role of promote each other.②The performance of the work and family negative spillover-work-family conflict:time of contradiction, the contradiction between career and family development, self development demand caused by the psychological pressure, the influence of negative emotions.Conclusion(1)The total score of work family conflict and career status was at medium level.(2)There has a negative correlation between work family conflict with its six dimensions and career status.The more work family conflict and its six dimensions,the score of career status is less.(3)Clinical nurses themselves should make life planning, change ideas, at the same time look for actively role stress demand compensatory mechanism; Nursing managers should pay attention to clinical nurses work family conflict, adopt the reasonable amount of work mode and family friendly policy, etc., alleviate the conflict.
