ObjectiveTo investigate the demographic characteristics, disease status, anxiety and depression of polycystic ovary syndrome, and to find the factors that influence anxiety and depresson of polycystic ovary syndrome. By providing an objective reference data, in order to prevent the occurrence of anxiety and depression of polycystic ovary syndrome and promptly give right psychological counseling and treatment for PCOS patients with anxiety and depression.MethodInvestigators were from gynecological clinic of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome completed a self-made questionnaire of polycystic ovary syndrome, acne score table(Pillsbury grading), acanthosis nigricans score table, Ferriman-Gallwey hirsutism score table, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating Depressing Scale(SDS). The collecting data was recorded with Excel and analyzed with SPSS17.0.Results(1)148cases of PCOS patients:The prevalence of anxiety and depression and both coexisting was28.38%and29.73%and20.27%respectively. The average score of anxiety and depression was43.43±8.58points and44.61±9.59points respectively.(2) Menstrual flow:The prevalence of anxiety and depression of POCS patients with abnormal menstrual flow was higher than those with noemal menstrual flow (P<0.05).(3) LH/FSH levels:The prevalence of anxiety of POCS patients with LH/FSH^2was higher than those with LH/FSH<2(P<0.05)(4) FT levels:The prevalence of anxiety and depression of the FT levels elevated group was higher than those with the FT levels normal group (P<0.05)(5) Multiple linear regression analysis:Menstrual flow and FT levels were the influencing factors of the prevalence of anxiety and depression.ConclusionThe prevalence of anxiety and depression for PCOS patients was higher. Menstrual flow and FT levels were the influencing factors of the prevalence of anxiety and depression. In order to get good treatment efficacy, Clinicians should pay close attention to Mental Health of PCOS patients while treating body diseases. |
