A Phenomenological Study On Primary Caregivers Psychological Experience Of Lung Cancer Patients

Objective:To explore the psychological experience of primary caregivers of patients with lung cancer.Methods:This study used Hurrsel’s phenomenological methodology.Purposive sampling was adopted to find10primary caregivers of patients with lung cancer. After the informed consent was obtained. Semi-structured interview was conducted with digital recorder.Data transcribed into text word by word, and double checked it,and then analyzed the transcripts using Colaizzi’s descriptive phenomenological method.Results:Through reading,analysis,reflection,separation and theme refinging,four categories and sixteen themes clusters were drawn:①Patients with lung cancer early diagnosis of primary caregivers’psychological reaction:Deny and shock,Guilt and remorse,At a loss,A nxiety,Lying about;②The main process of the treatment of patients with lung cancer caregivers’psychological reaction:Accept, Physical strength overdraft, Personal life loss, The economic pressure;③Patients with lung cancer advanced disease primary caregivers’psychological reaction:Grief, Sense of uncertainty, Desire;④Hope to get support:Family support,Patients support,Medical support,Social support.Conclusions:Through this study shows the main caregivers of patients with lung cancer there are a lot of psychological problems. Attaches great importance to the physical and mental health of primary caregivers of patients with lung cancer is particularly important.
