| Objective:The study aims at observing the effect of acupoint catgut embeddingtherapy and common filiform needle for the treatment of primary dysmenorrheal. Bycomparing their characteristics, the study endeavors to determine a more appropriateacupuncture therapy. Methods: Randomly assign60cases which have been diagnosed as primarydysmenorrhea of syndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis to three groups, namelythe acupoint catgut embedding group, the acupuncture and moxibustion group, and the oraltherapy group. Each group has20cases. Patients of the acupoint catgut embedding groupwill receive one acupuncture point bury treatment5days before menstruating. Patients ofthe acupuncture and moxibustion group will receive relevant treatment once a day fivedays before menstruation. Patients of the control group will be treated with oral ibuprofenthree times a day (every eight hours) for2-3days at the onset of menstrual cramps until thepain disappears;2oral tablets will be administrated each time (0.2g). After continuoustreatment of three menstrual cycles, compare the dysmenorrhea symptoms integral beforeand after the treatment, Chinese medical symptom integral, clinical curative effect, totaleffective rate and the long-term effect after treatment of the three groups.Results:1.After the treatment of three menstrual cycles, respective clinical efficiency of thethree treatments are: acupoint catgut embedding group (100%), acupuncture andmoxibustion group (100%) and control group (80%). The curative rates of the three groupsare: acupoint catgut embedding group (80%), acupuncture and moxibustion group (60%),control group (30%). Comparing the overall efficiency of the three treatments, the studyfind that there is no obvious difference, which means the clinical efficiency of the threetreatments are similar. Comparing the overall curative rate of the three treatments, thestudy finds that there is an obvious difference. Pairwise comparison proves that theacupoint catgut embedding group is better than the other two groups as to the markedlycurative rate.2.After the treatment of three menstrual cycles, respective effect on PD coldcoagulation and blood stasis are: acupoint catgut embedding group (efficiency:100%; markedly curative rate:55%); acupuncture and moxibustion group (efficiency:95%;markedly curative rate:25%); and control group (efficiency:75%; markedly curativerate:0%). Pairwise comparison of the overall efficiency and markedly curative rate on PDcold coagulation and blood stasis proves that the acupoint catgut embedding group is betterthan the other two groups.3.After the treatment of three menstrual cycles, comparison of the three treatments onthe quantitative integral of PD cold coagulation and blood stasis shows that all of them areeffective, but there is an obvious difference. Pairwise comparison proves that the acupointcatgut embedding group is better than the other two groups as to the effect on thesymptoms of dysmenorrhea of cold coagulation and blood stasis.4. Comparison on the severity of dysmenorrhea three months after the treatmentsshows that there is an significant difference. Pairwise comparison proves that patients ofthe acupoint catgut embedding group have much milder symptoms than the other twogroups.5.Three months after the treatments, the clinical curative efficiency of the threegroups are: acupoint catgut embedding group (80%), acupuncture and moxibustion group(65%) control group (15%). The markedly curative rate of the three groups are: acupointcatgut embedding group(40%), acupuncture and moxibustion group (15%), control group(0%). Pairwise comparison on the overall curative efficiency and markedly curative rateproves that the acupoint catgut embedding group is better than the other two groups as tothe long-term effect. Conclusion:All of the three treatments: acupoint catgut embedding, acupuncture andmoxibustion, and oral ibuprofen, are effective on primary dysmenorrheal, especiallysyndrome of cold coagulation and blood stasis. The acupoint catgut embedding is muchmore effective on primary dysmenorrheal of cold coagulation and blood stasis, meanwhileits long-term effect is better. |
