ObjectiveThis research analysis the problems in training objectives, curriculum and practicalteaching of undergraduate anesthesia nursing talent training model of Taishan MedicalCollege, to provide references for other colleges and making it perfect.MethodsThe first stage, the author analysis the related theoretical and background throughliterature review, to get the status of Chinese anesthesia nursing education, as well as thecurrent situation of anesthesia nursing education, and puts forward the research problem.The second stage is baseline survey. Collecting teaching and practice plan of anesthesianursing, to analyze the training objectives, curriculum and the practice teaching. The thirdstage,using the method of questionnaire survey to investigate the2011,2012and2013session of anesthesia nursing graduates, and getting the satisfaction of curriculum,evaluation and expectation. At the same time, using semi-structured interviews tounderstand students’ demands of curriculum and practice teaching.Results1、The training object lacks the description of Specific knowledge and ability,especially specialist knowledge and skills of anesthesia nursing.2、The satisfaction Likert score of the entire curriculum is3.21, anesthesia nursingcourse score is2.77.3、The evaluation of course importance:(1)Medical course: The following courses Likert score means<3.0: preventivemedicine, clinical nutrition, medical microbiology, histology and embryology; TCMnursing, psychiatric nursing, ENT nursing, community nursing, geriatric nursing;anesthesia Equipment; nursing ethics and health regulations. The other means≥3.0.(2)The following course are expected to be selective course: Clinical nutrition and preventive medicine; Community nursing and TCM nursing; nursing ethics and healthregulations. The following course are expected to be cancelled: Histology and embryologywith Medical microbiology; Psychiatric nursing, ENT nursing and geriatric nursing;Anesthesia Equipment. The Proportion of3050expected the following courses to becompulsory or selective course: medical genetics, immunology, pathology andpathophysiology; intensive care technology and ventilator therapy; nursing education.(3)There existed discrepancy about importance evaluation of Medical Statistics,Clinical anesthesia nursing, pain nursing, intensive care technology, ventilator therapy andnursing Research.4、Anesthesia nursing courses are lack of sufficient qualified teachers, theoryknowledge and clinical practice are not well combined, lack of excellent professionaltextbook. For nursing professional humanities curricula the teaching content and teachingmethods are not appropriate, and the assessment methods are not flexible.5、Time of learning nursing courses:56.33of graduates agree to study nursingcourses in the first semester of Sophomore.66.46graduates agree to study anesthesianursing courses in the first semester of fourth grade.6、specialty characteristics: The curriculum reflects the characteristics of anesthesianursing, its Likret score is3.58; the teaching material of anesthesia nursing courses are notcombined well with clinical anesthesia nursing, its Likret score is3.16.7、Learning load:42.41of graduates said they have some spare time,37.33ofgraduates said they have more spare time.41.77of graduates expect to study7-8subjectseach semester,and39.24expect to study9-10subjects.44.3of graduates expect21-24class hours per week,and37.97of graduates expect25-29.8、Practice teaching:(1)Students expect to hold professional academic activities, andcontact with clinical anesthesia care early, deepen the understanding of professional.(2)Theexperimental teaching contents are outdated, and the laboratory opening time is toolittle.(3)The graduates reflect that trainee has become a mere formality. Trainee inDepartment of Anesthesiology is insufficient, and the trainee time is less flexible.(4)Theinternship hours and contents in Department of Anesthesiology is different in eachhospital.Conclusion1、Establishing clear knowledge and ability standard that student should achieve in each stage, to construct a general and unified training object of undergraduate anesthesianursing talent.2、Anesthesia nursing course and nursing professional humanities curricula shouldfocus on teacher training, teaching material construction, reform the teaching andexamination method.3、Paying attention to highlight specialty characteristics in curriculum and practiceteaching.4、To delete the unnecessary courses and reduce length of schooling to4years.It isavailable to students to study25-27class hours per week,9-10courses each semester.5、Practice teaching:(1)Holding professional academic activities and contact withclinical anesthesia care early is necessary.(2)To increase the opening time of the laboratoryand adjust the experiment contents, for integration of experiment and clinicalpractice.(3)Students are better to stationed in hospital to arrange clinical probationflexibly.(4)The recommended period of probation in Anesthesia nursing related departmentis1/3of the practice time. Developing a standardized internship outline, includingpreoperative visit, postoperative visit and pain nursing.(5)To strengthen the training ofprofessional teachers in anesthesia nursing, then we can give a full play to the advantagesof tutorial system.
