Objectives: 1) To investigate the correlation of the expression levels of plasma mi R-1 and mi R-133 a with the occurrence of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.2) To investigate the correlation of expression levels of plasma mi R-1, mi R-133 a with age, total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), homocysteine(HCY) levels, left atrial diameters(LAD) and left ventricular ejection fractions(LVEF) respectively in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Methods: 1) Using case-control study, 92 patients were selected in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanhua University from June, 2014 to October, 2014. According to the electrocardiogram results and previous history, these patients were divided into two groups: 58 cases in AF group with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, and 34 cases in control group with sinus rhythm which were selected in the same period. The conditions of sex, age, smoking history, drinking history, medical history in each group were well matched.2) To collect the venous blood samples of each subject in the next morning after hospital admission, use EDTA anticoagulant tubes, extract total RNA from the plasma, have micro RNA reverse transcription, design the primers and use real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR) to detect the expression levels of plasma mi R-1 and mi R-133 a.3) To record and analyze the difference of TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, HCY, LAD and LVEF respectively between the two groups. To investigate the correlation of the expression levels of plasma mi R-1, mi R-133 a with the above indicators respectively in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Results: 1) Compared with the control group, the TC, TG, LDL-C levels decreased, HCY level increased, LAD enlarged, and LVEF decreased in AF group, the differences had statistical significance; but difference of HDL-C level between two groups had no statistical significance.2) Compared with the control group, the expression level of plasma mi R-1 increased in AF patients, the difference had statistical significance; the expression level of plasma mi R-133 a in AF patients increased, but the difference was not statistically significant.3) In AF group, the plasma mi R-1 level was positively correlated with LAD.Conclusions: 1) Compared with the control group, the expression level of plasma mi R-1 increases in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, which may act as a new biomarker for the clinical diagnosis of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.2) The expression level of plasma mi R-1 is positively correlated with left atrial diameters, which may be involved in atrial structural remodeling of patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.3) Down-regulation of TC, TG and LDL-C levels, up-regulation of HCY levels, LAD enlargement and LVEF decreasing may be the risk factors of novalvular atrial fibrillation.
