To search the safe and effective treatment strategy for elderly Patients with advanced NSCLCMethods Sixty Patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer were randomly divided into two groups. The theraPy grouP was 30 Patients and given the treatment of FuZhengHuaTan Decoction combining GP regimen-while the control grouP was 30 Patients given the treatment of GP regimen alone. After the treatment of three Periods (three weeks Per Period) of the two grouPs-the changes of indices Primary lesion, clinical symPtom, the quality of life was evaluated and chemotheraPy side effects were observed.Results ComPared with the control grouP. the curative effect of theraPy grouP was suPerior to that of the control grouP obviously (P<0.05) concerning the symPtoms(cough, bloody sPutum, anorexia, short breath, inability, etc.) relief. We Presumed that the FuZhengHuaTan Decoction could relieve various kinds of clinical symPtom of advanced NSCLC Patients to a degree, and the Karnofsky’s score in the treatment grouP was significantly higher (P<0.05), the KPS score was suPerior to that of control grouP concerning the quality of life(QOL). The toxic and side reaction such as nausea, vomit etc. of theraPy grouP was lighter than that of the control grouP, and there was significant deviation (P<0.05) statistically. This result indicated that the FuZhengHuaTan Method could relieve effectively the toxic and side reaction of the Process of chemical theraPy.Conclusion The FuZhengHuaTan Method combining chemical theraPy can relieve effectively the clinical symPtom of advanced non small cell lung cancer Patients, enhance quality of life and reduce the side effects of chemotheraPy, and is the effective method of treating advanced non small cell lung cancer.
