ObjectiveTo observe the effects of heat sensation moxibustion and acupuncture in treating primary dysmenorrhea of congealing cold and blood stasis type. Provide a new way to treat the primary dysmenorrhea and promote the development of the heat-sensitive moxibustion. Methods59 patients from the acupuncture and gynecology outpatient department in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were divided into the treatment group of 30 cases and the control group of 29 cases. Two groups selected the same set of acupoints and the same Manipulation method. Points:guanyuan, shuidao, sanyinjiao, diji, shiqizhui. Manipulation method:all points used reinforcing-reducing method, needle retention for 20 minutes. Control group:after abtaining qi, put on a 2cm long moxa stick and ignite, then waiting for burnout of the moxa stieks for about 20 minutes, then withdrawed the needle. Treatment group:After the acupuncture treatment, used the heat-sensitive moxibustion method. First, choosed the following moxibustion position:lower abdomen, lumbosacral portion, the inside of the lower legs. Then, Finding 3-4 heat points and giving enough moxibustion within an hour. Maintained the enough heat degree. Non-hot feeling as the standard. We started the treatment ten days before the menstruation. Two groups of patients were treated every other day until they menstruated. When dysmenorrhea attacks,, the above treatment should be also taken. A menstrual cycle is a period of treatment, doing three courses.Record the score of PRI, VAS, CMMS for each patient before and after treatment. Resultsâ… .Baseline analyseTwo groups are comparability from ages, courses of disease, pathogenetic condition (P>0.05).â…¡. Treatment results(1) About relieving the painâ‘ After the treatments, both of the groups had curative effect on relieving the pain (P<0.01), but the treatment group was better than the control group (P<0.05)â‘¡ After the treatments, the scores of PRI,VAS,CMMS decreased markedly in the two groups (P<0.01), but the treatment group was better than the control group (P<0.05)(2) About relieving the TCM syndromesAfter the treatments, both of the groups had curative effect on reducing the score of TCM syndromes, but two groups had the close effect (P>0.05).â…¢. Effect analysisâ‘  About the total short-term effect, the total effective rate of treatment group and control group was 83.33% and 62.07%, and the total effective rate of treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05)â‘¡ About the curative effect of TCM syndromes, the total effective rate of treatment group and control group was 86.67% and 68.97%, but two groups had the close effect (P>0.05)â‘¢ About the immediate curative effect, the effective rate of treatment group and control group was 83.33% and 68.97%, the immediate curative effective rate of treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05).â…£.Observing the thermal moxibustion sensationAbout the High-incidence area of the heat-sensitized points, Guanyuan was the first high-incidence area, secondly were Zusanli and Sanyinjiao. The heat-sensitized rate of Guanyuan point was 53.33%, The heat-sensitized rate of other points was 26.67%,20.00% of patients had no heat sensitive.ConclusionBoth two groups had a good eurative effect to treat primary dysmenorrhea, and the heat-sensitive moxibustion with acupuncture treatment was better than the warming needle on guanyuan with acupuncture treatment on relieving pain and immediate curative effect, but two groups had the close effect on relieving the TCM syndromes. So the heat-sensitive moxibustion is an effective treatment on primary dysmenorrheal of congealing cold and blood stasis type, and it is worth extending on the clinic.
