Curriculum Construction Based On Competency Of General Practitioners’ Training In Chongqing

General practitioners are “gatekeepers” of health of residents and alsothe new force of grassroots health personnel. A talent team of generalpractitioners with sufficient numbers, exquisite skills and excellent qualitycan effectively solve the problem of “poor access and high fees of seeingdoctors” and actively boost new medical reform of China.The paper takes the curriculum system of general practitioners intraining bases as the research object, defines the theory and relatedconcepts of competency through looking up relevant document literatures,gets to know about the demand situation of domestic general practitionersand the training status and curriculum setting of domestic and foreigngeneral practitioners, analyzes the components of competency of generalpractitioners and lays a theoretical foundation for the construction ofcurriculum system through combining with the training program of generalpractitioners. Through approval of some experts and discussions ofresearch teams, the paper preliminarily compiles the curriculum system oftraining bases in Chongqing based on the competency of general practitioners, transforms it into questionnaires.12experts equipped withrich theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of generalpractice education, general practitioner training and clinical medicine frommedical colleges, clinical practice training bases of general practitionersand community hospitals are selected, two rounds of activities of expertconsultation are implemented and a statistical analysis of consulting resultsis conducted by applying SPSS19.0statistical software. On this basis, thepaper combines the opinions and suggestions of experts, adjusts andmodifies the curriculum system and finally forms the curriculum system oftraining bases in Chongqing based on the competency of generalpractitioners. The paper takes the competency of general practitioners asthe entry point and compiles48courses from three dimensions based onmedical service ability, public health service ability and professional quality.Construction of the curriculum system is of certain theoretical and practicalsignificance to improve scientificity, standardability and high efficiency oftraining general practitioners, promote the improvement of the overallquality of general practitioners and advance the implementation of the firstdiagnosis system and dual referral system.
