Object Compare the differences between RUNZAOHEJI and Bisolvon on the treatment of castrated male rabbits’ xerophthalmia,by observing the changes of tear secretion, tear film rupture time and corneal fluorescence staining in castrated male rabbits. Methods Twenty four adult mail rabbits were divided randomly into normal group and model group. Normal Group comprises six rabbits and model group comprises eighteen. After one week, Bilateral testicular and epididymis of model group were exsected to make dry eye model, then model group were divided randomly into dry eye group, Bisolvon group and RUNZAOHEJI group while each group comprises six. Schirmer test, tear film break-up time(BUT), Corneal fluorescein staining were performed on the eyes of all four group rabbits before experiment and at1st week,2nd week,3rd week,4th week,6th week,8th week after experiment. From the4th week, Bisolvon group were given Bisolvon and RUNZAOHEJI group were give RUNZAOHEJI for threatment.ResultsTwo weeks after castration, Schirmer test and tear film break-up time(BUT) were abnormal. Eight weeks after castration, tear secretion volume of RUNZAOHEJI and Bisolvon group significantly increased comparing to the volume before treatment and Rupture time of tear film prolong. In8th week after treatment, statistics show that RUNZAOHEJI group had better effect than Bisolvon group. The difference between RUNZAOHEJI and Bisolvon group shows statistical significance. Castrated male rabbits of dry eye group suffered hair dry rough, oral ulcer, oral dry and Cornea were dry and matt, while there were vast fluorescence staining. Oral ulcer of Bisolvon group and RUNZAOHEJI group were improved and fluorescence staining of cornea were decreasing. Conclution The low hormone level of castrated male rabbits is one of the main reasons of dry eye. RUNZAOHEJI and Bisolvon improve the symptoms of dry eye in different degree. According to the experiment observation and statistical data, RUNZAOHEJI has better effect than Bisolvon on improving dry eye symptoms and are more safe, more effective. |
