| Objective: Observe the fracture healing and postoperative shoulder function ofthe humeral greater tuberosity to investigate the locking proximal humerus platecombined with anti-osteoporosis treating the Osteoporotic fractures of the humeralgreater tuberosity in elderly.Method: From October2010to October2013,20patients with humeral greatertuberosity fracture were treated with locking proximal humerus plate andanti-osteoporosis. they were8men and12women,with age of65-88(mean74.55)years. Preoperative patients without axillary nerve injury; without vascular injury; noserious cardiovascular disease, pre-injury limb dysfunction that is, cognitive disordersnot included in this study group. The operation was started after1-2days.Through the deltoid splitting approach, the fracture fragments were fixed withlocking proximal humerus plate after reseted anatomically.calcium,Use vitaminD andcalcitonin to treat osteoporosis and teach the patients to do shoulder exerciseaftersurgery. The last follow-up Neer shoulder score was used to assess clinical outcome. Usinghumeral greater tuberosity to the humeral head center and the greater tuberosity of thehumerus to the long axis of the vertical distance to assess the extent of the humeralgreater tuberosity displacement. Observe the patient’s skin wound healing and fracturehealing time. Results: All patients were followed up for12to16months (mean13.75months).The Neer shoulder score ranged from78-100points,theresult was excellent in15patients,good in7,and fair in1,theexcellent and good rate was95%.All patientsachieved primary healing of incision and were free of complications. No implant failurewas observed at last follow-up.Conclusion: In the treatment of Osteoporotic fractures of the humeral greatertuberosity, LPHP with anti-osteoporosis not only maintains satisfying reduction withreliable fixation, but also manipulates simply and invadea slightly, thus gets goodcurative effect, fast recovery.so it is a effective fixation techniques for the treatment ofOsteoporotic fractures of the humeral greater tuberosity in elderly patients. |
