As an effective way of Human Resource Management in modern enterprise, Employee Assistance Program can help employees to overcome their mental and behavior problems, and help organization to improve performance and gain a better development. Therefore, an increasing number of enterprises are involved in EAP in China, public institutions are not included. Nevertheless, medical staffs are enduring lots of pressure. Medical and health work is a crucial problem related to the interests of people and people’s life safety, and as a business unit, and EAP in hospital should have its own characteristics different from the EAP in enterprise. This research aims to explore the EAP carried in hospitals, by using the method of qualitative research and referring to the enterprise EAP, in order to improve the EAP’s consciousness, initiative and effectiveness in hospitals. The conclusions are as follows:Because of the different nature of the hospital, hospital has its own characteristics in the implementation of the EAP, they are different from the enterprise’s EAP in the demand analysis, the service mode, the contents of the project and the effect evaluation:(1) EAPs in hospitals choose the mode of internal EAP.(2) Hospitals tend to use the observation and questionnaire survey method to conduct the requirement analysis.(3) In hospitals’EAP, on-site consultation have a higher response rate than the individual counseling and telephone consultation(4) In the content setting of hospital’s EAPs, hospitals can make full use of internal resources to held unique activities, such as seminar activity and symposium.(5) Hospitals are more likely to use formal psychological assessment and evaluation of others to assess changes in psychology and behavior of the medical staff and environmental of the organization.Due to the hospital EAPhas just started, there are many aspects needed to improve and promote in the implementation process, such as the propaganda methods are not perfect, the benefit groups of the project is not comprehensive enough and so on.
