Combined with the various afforestation techniques of drought resistant, the paper studys on the comprehensive afforestation techniques, insteading of the application of the single technique previous. The purpose is focus on the water gathering, water conservation and water replenishing, to explore a variety of techniques complement each other, and summarize the afforestation mode of drought resistancet. The results suggest in the arid desert area like Gulang County where auunal rainfall is below 150mm, adopting the artificial afforestation techniques of fish scale pits, digging machine big cave and soil preparation, collecting run-off pit soil preparation and seedling water retention, stem to the head, dipping root dry and covered afforestation, planting hole enlarging the planting technology of drowning moisture and replenishment tending drought and other technical measures in under the condition of irrigation can significant increase the survival rate. The results are as follows:1. Each fish scale pits can collect 1.5-2 square meters of natural precipitation. Each pit throughout the year can enjoy 0.5-1 square meters of natural precipitation.2. Digging machine mechanical pit digging planting hole in the pit after site preparation, soil moisture can be deep planting, make the root layer soil moisture content increased 6.5-7.2%; raise the soil water content of 30.4-33.9%, the afforestation survival rate is improved by 15-30% than the general.3. Collecting run-off pit slope soil preparation in the use of plastic film and other impervious material processing, collection of runoff catchment area 1-2 square meters, the soil moisture content pool at 20-40cm most of the time to stay above 10%.4. Stem to head dry farming techniques can improve 20%-30% survival rate of forestation, general interception distance seedling ground diameter 30 centimeters place.5. Through comparative test, covering the afforestation survival rate and preservation rate increased to 10%-15%.
