The cycloid permanent magnetic gear is one of magnetic coupling transmission device, it relies on magnetic force to transfer torque between the permanent magnet of the rotor and the stator. Magnetic gear is generally made up of two rotors, while the cycloid permanent magnetic gear is composed of stator and rotor which revolves around the stator shaft but also around the input shaft rotation. In addition to general advantages, it can deliver higher torque and transmission ratio. When using Halbach array, the magnetic flux leakage is reduced, and the magnetic flux between the rotor and the stator will be more effectively, so it can deliver higher torque and achieve higher efficiency.The main consideration object of permanent magnet gear is drive torque, transmission ratio and efficiency. Theory, finite element simulation and experimental validation have been used to analyses and research the influence of those three objects in this paper.Firstly, a summary of topological structure and present condition of the study of permanent magnet gear is given. The Halbach array is applied in cycloid permanent magnetic gear transmission device, and then use the method of equivalent currents deriving magnetic field of air-gap and driving torque, which based on Maxwell simultaneous equation.Secondly, two-dimensional model of cycloid permanent magnet gear is built by using ANSYS, and the magnetic field distribution under the condition of permanent magnet arranged in different ways is analyses. The relationship between torque of cycloid permanent magnetic gear and angle deviation, offset, radial thickness of permanent magnets, yoke irons are studied, respectively.Thirdly, to compare with the two-dimensional model simulation results, three-dimensional model is built, and analyses the influence of axial length on magnetic field transmission torque of permanent magnetic gear.Finally, the experiments of general array and 90° Halbach array on cycloid permanent magnet gear is conducted respectively, and drive torque, the relationship between rotary angle and drive torque are drawn. The experimental value with theoretical solution and simulation value are compared, and analyses the causes of errors. The transmission performance of cycloid permanent magnet gear is measured by experiment.
