As the character of no leak, magnetic drive pump is widely used in pumping dangerous, costly liquid and so on. The working principle is that, the motor drives the outer magnetic rotor, then as the interaction force by magnet between the inner magnetic rotor and the outer magnetic rotor, the inner one drives the impeller to rotate. The inner and the outer magnetic rotors are separated by containment shell, so it makes the zero leak of pumping working material. This paper aims at the enhancement of the torque of magnetic transmission. So, Halbach array was brought into the design, and the study of the torque affected by all kinds of factors was done. The main work and research results of this paper are as follows:1. The usual permanent magnet materials were introduced, and the magnetic performance of different permanent magnet materials was compared. Then, the appropriate material was chosen to fit the design.2. The principle of the magnetic transmission was analyzed, the structure of the usual magnetic transmission was introduced, and the usual permanent magnet arrays were summarized.3. Design the permanent magnet arrays of magnetic transmission by AutoCAD software, and three different segmented Halbach arrays were brought forward.4. Based on the summary of calculating the torque of magnetic transmission in theory, the average magnetic field intensity in the air-gap and the torque of the magnetic transmission were derived by the classic magnetism method of equivalent magnetic charges.5. The 2D model of magnetic transmission was brought into ANSYS software and meshed. Then the materials properties were defined. The magnetic field intensity in the air-gap was calculated by using MVP model, and the torque of the magnetic transmission was calculated in General Postproc by using the methods of virtual work theory and Maxwell stress tenser. 6. The traditional array and Halbach array were compared with the results of Finite Element Analysis. Then the affections of different angle deviation, the air-gap, the magnet poles, the magnet segments, the permanent magnet and the yoke were analyzed.
