The four seasons in north China, the relative scarcity of water resources, climate, topography, cultural history and the south are differences, on the revetment space landscape of build, should be treated differently, and how to reasonable design suitable to the northern climate, geographical conditions of the revetment space landscape, is the key point of this study.In this paper, a total of six parts including paper is the first part mainly introduces the research background, research contents, research significance and purpose, research level and present situation at home and abroad, research methods; The second part mainly combed the related concepts of the revetment space district; The third part expounds the northern required of revetment space design theory basis; The fourth part in the development of northern revetment, aesthetic theory, ecology theory and related theoretical basis, respectively, the basic structure of revetment, such design of revetment, revetment of facade design, design of hydrophilicity of revetment, revetment of color and texture, revetment landscape composition of these six aspects, analyzed its characteristic and design technique, and to find and fix problems; Fifth part through the north and the south revetment space analysis, analysis of the north and the south revetment of different space, learn the advantages of the south revetment landscape construction, guidance for northern revetment space design; Through the first five part of the research content, the research conclusion, and thinking about the future trend of the development of northern revetment space design.Northern city, the water shortage, the northern people’s desire for the water, the more eagerly, the northern city of revetment space often ignored the regionality, aesthetic, ecological characteristics, only consider the flood control and safety, or blindly copying the southern landscape form, imitating southern gardening technique, can’t play the role of revetment in urban waterfront landscape and the significance, in the north of the water landscape design, meet the functional and aesthetic, ecological is extremely important topic.The author hope that through the research of this paper, to the northern cities build bring certain guiding significance to the revetment space, make its aesthetic, ecological revetment space, attention to regional, explore the scientific, aesthetic, the design method of the revetment space gives art expressive force and vitality, striving to create high quality people for the cultivation of body and mind.
