A Study Of Low-impact Development Design For Waterfront Residential Area Of Taihu Lake Basin

Taihu lake basin is located in the east of China, covering an area of36900squarekilometers. The administrative divisions including the Sunan region of Jiangsu Province,Jiaxing, Huzhou of Zhejiang Province and a part of Hangzhou, most of Shanghai. In the basin,rivers criss-crossing and speckled with lakes, so it commonly known as" Jiangnan Watervillage". Therefore, the residential area within the Taihu Lake Basin is generally close contactwith water. Then the basin is rich in natural resources, economically developed, has manycities and densely populated, also the residential area of the basin are massively constructed.Therefore, it has practical significance and application value to study the development modelof sustainable waterfront residential area which has low energy consumption and less damageto the environment.The paper selects the waterfront residential area of Taihu lake basin as the research object,using the concept of low-impact development, focuses on the insignificance of developmentmodel, analysis of the current situation and existing problems about the development andconstruction of waterfront residential area in the Taihu lake basin, and combines with thedomestic and international research and practice about the waterfront residential area, learnfrom the way which is feasible, in-depth studies the low-impact development that used in thewaterfront residential area of Taihu lake basin, including resource utilization city planning,architectural design, environmental protection, ecological balance and so on, all of thisprovides a useful theoretical support and technical means about the planning of waterfrontresidential area for the architectural designers, also provides an innovative way for thesustainable development of architecture design.The paper focuses on some areas of Taihu lake basin, special emphasis on the conditionof waterfront residential area in Suzhou of Jiangsu province and Huzhou, Jiaxing of Zhejiangprovince, compares the low-impact development mode with the traditional development mode,to get something that is worth to promote and improve. Hope that the results of this study willprovide reference value for the development and construction of waterfront residential areaand the resource protection of environment.The full text is divided into six chapters with about63090characters,116pictures and12tables.
