With the rapid development of construction’s science and technology, both the spatialstructure, construction method, construction machinery technology and methods of projectmanagement have greater progress and breakthroughs. A series of advantages of space gridstructures such as load sharing, equipment installation, rugged, modular units, rules based ongeometry and convenient installation, application of space grid structure becomes more andmore widely. This paper introduces the space grid structure: the most commonly used form oflarge span steel truss structure.With the development of space grid structures, the installation process has graduallybecome the object of research focus. At present, the general construction method, includinghigh-altitude spelling, integral lifting method, segmental hoisting, slip method etc. Comparedwith other construction methods and its scope of application is wide the ascension of thewhole and the flexibility and applicability of law, this paper focuses on the constructionmethod.Because of the large span steel truss structure is extremely complex, involving manykinds of bar, if it combine building information model of BIM, can greatly improve theefficiency of construction. BIM is composed of three parts: BIM specific performance cancontain the size, cost, time and other information in3D model of component properties;platform to build the whole life cycle of the data included a project using BIM technology forresource sharing, decision making, design, construction, completion, the decision-makingoperation process provide the basis; in different stages of project operation, each unit throughthe BIM platform collaboration.Firstly, this paper introduces the whole ascension principle and composition of the liftingsystem. Secondly, taking Guangzhou Baiyun Airport a repair hangar project as an example,Research of the large span steel truss structure in the ascension of the whole planning stage,truss erection, promote the construction of some problems and the solving measures, For latersimilar projects reference to this paper, focusing on the problems to strict grasp. Finally, BIMas a new technology, has been gradually accepted and recognized, will become an alternative to CAD technology from2D to3D development trend. This paper using The long span steeltruss structure project and the construction of BIM information model, the grid structure areas follows: BIM steel truss structure modeling and application research based on theintegrated construction technology; research data based on BIM; Study on Simulation of3-Dconstruction based on BIM; cost management research in each stage based on BIM, providethe reference for the similar structure system using BIM technology.
