Comprehensive Assessment Of The Level Of Urbanization Of Anhui Province

The level of urbanization development represents a country’s economic, social,cultural, technological development level, and also an important symbol to measurethe degree of social organization and management of the national and regional level.Due to the breadth and complexity of the process of urbanization, making it becomethe important issues of economics, geography, demography, ecology and sociology.Urbanization in China is currently in the fast development level, all governments ofChina and academia are concerned about urbanization. Speeding up the process ofurbanization, is undoubtedly a major development strategy for Chinas modernizationin the21st century. Building a more scientific and reasonable evaluation system toobjectively reflect the level of development of the urbanization is becomingimperativ.In this paper, the main purpose is to analyze the level of urbanization of16prefecture-level cities in Anhui Province. First, introducing the domestic andinternational research on the problems of urbanization status and some basicconcepts of urbanization, on this basis, summed up the basic theory of theconnotation of urbanization; Secondly, based on the instruction of home and abroadurbanization development, highlighting in the current development status of urbanization of Anhui Province and the main problems; Thirdly, according to theprinciples of constructing index system and comprehensive consideration of theactual situation of Anhui Province, building a index system for the evaluation ofurbanization development level of Anhui Province. The system selects14indicatorsfrom five aspects of education, economy, social life, infrastructure and environment.Running the statistical software SPSS, by using factor analysis and cluster analysismethod, sorted and classified the city of16prefecture-level city in Anhui Province.The results indicate that the level of urbanization in Anhui Province as a whole is lowand there are significant regional differences. At last, analyzing the causes of the gapbetween the level of urbanization in Anhui Province, and proposing policies andrecommendations on the basis of the analysis.
