TV match-making show has a history of more than30years since its firstpresentation in Chinese TV screen. However, it has received mixed reviews. Some sayit has provided a platform for single men and women to meet and date each other,while some believe it’s a new form of TV reality show, and some criticize thatinformation about guests in TV match-making shows is fake, etc.University students are the main audience group of TV match-making shows.Are their values on marriage been affected and changed? Is the influence positive ornegative? With a trail of question marks, I have made a comprehensive research. Idefined TV match-making shows, summarized characteristics of TV match-makingshows and the values it demonstrated, made a research on formation background of’university students marriage values and characteristics and finally I carried out aresearch on marriage values of Shanghai university students.In my thesis, I found that TV match-making shows have a negative effect onuni’versity students marriage values. TV match-making shows, related supervisiondepartments and universities should take up the responsibility to build a positivemedia environment. |
