Now, the construction of waterway regulation project of water transportation industry in our country is mainly conducted manually, supplemented by advanced automation technology. With the development of waterway transportation, waterway regulation engineering and mattress arrangement technology become more and more important, especially in deep water and harsh conditions of the waterway. In the underwater case of poor clarity to manual operation, detection can’t achieve the desired effect and it has become a technological problem across the whole project. The12.5m deep water channel project beneath Yangtze Nanjing River is the major project of "twelfth five-year" plan and it is a symbolic project of inland water transportation development for Yangtze River. The project is a national major project during "twelfth five-year" period with the largest investment and the most complex technology of inland water transportation, which plays an important exemplary role in the construction of the national waterway construction.In the project we undertake, the maximum depth of the water is35m (maximum depth of the present domestic waterway regulation) and the flow rate is up to2m/s. According to the survey, the depth of current domestic mattress body laying is generally less than20m. The laying ship which meets more than30m depth has not yet been developed. Under these harsh conditions, the project will give a tremendous impact on the construction period without the support of advanced technology and equipment.There is no domestic35m depth layout of jobs engineering precedent and also specialized laying equipments for35m water depth are unavailable. To develop deepwater layout of equipment and technology is the key to complete the12.5m waterway project from Nanjing down Yangtze River.In this project, we are prepared to develop a set of laying technology of ultra-short baseline (USBL) underwater positioning system software and solve the problem of mattress body laying in deep underwater and detection. With this software system development, we can improve deepwater layout of technology and form a set of independent intellectual property rights. It will accumulate valuable experience and provide strong technical support in the field of deep-water channel construction for our country.In this paper, we firstly discuss the background of the Yangtze River deepwater waterway regulation project and give some problems to resolve. The requirements of system functional and non-functional are analyzed.We design the USBL system to achieve the requirements. Firstly, we confirm the requirements of the system and design the functional architecture, deployment architecture and security architecture, The functional architecture deployment has considered system scalability. Secondly, the safety architecture is designed to protect the whole system. Lastly, the function process has been designed.Next, we give detailed design information of USBL system, which include the main interface, the layer display, window display, etc. In system modeling, we conducted a detailed link design database on the demand of system database. We design and implement the analytical data prediction model for the variance analysis. Then we give the software to achieve the main program. At last, we have run a system test and the results are analyzed.When designing the detail part, we briefly introduce the module which mainly focuses on the detail analysis for implementation of the database links. In this part, to meet the demand of the system database history record, we design and implement the analysis of data forecast model, and after that design and achieve the precast model for analyzing the database. Finally, we carry on the system test and analyze the operation test in detail.Finally, we summarize the application situation about the ultra short baseline soft mattress of deep underwater positioning detection system software in the Yangtze River waterway regulation engineering and bring out the future prospect of popularization and application.
