The intelligent online high speed tobacco foreign substance removal system is a special-purposeautomation equipment for eliminating tobacco foreign substance. This dissertation is to study the mainpart of device control section based on the FPGA serial bus.The traditional removal valve used parallel manner, in which a removal valve corresponds to anI/O interface of the I/O interface board. Due to the transportation method of control manner which usesparallel transmission, the signal is easily disturbed, the security and reliability of the system is low, thewhole project costs a great quantity of connection cable and money, and the maintenance is extremelyinconvenient. In order to solve the defects of removal valve control system, this study is to design aserial bus to replace the original parallel control module which based on FPGA. The core of the serialbus is signal transmission card and signal receiving card founded on FPGA. The parallel signal is sendfrom IPC(Industrial Personal Computer), and the purpose of the design is to quickly change the parallelsignal to serial bus signal. In detail, the computer control signal founded on PCI bus mode is sent to thesignal transmission card founded on FPGA. The transmission card changes the parallel signal to theserial bus which will be delivered to the signal received card. Conversely, the received card founded onFPGA changes the serial signal to the parallel signal and drives the removal valve. As a result, the serialbus can solve the problems of signal interference, complicated connection, complicated devicestructure, and inconvenient maintenance between removal valve and IPC.In view of a large amount of studies and practices, the dissertation gives a description offundamental theory of serial communication, fundamental theory of high speed digital system. It givesa research of FPGA technology and Compilation method of Verilog HDL language description. It alsogives designs of the PCI local bus interface circuit, electrical level switching circuit, port locationsetting, serial speed regulating circuit, serial data output circuit, data receiving circuit, removal valvedriving circuit and the PCB diagram for signal transmission card and card receiving, in the research, theVerilog HDL is applied for programming the designed hardware circuit, to achieve the correspondingtiming function and logical function.The designing of serial bus design based on FPGA is completed, and the sample is proved itsfeasibility by testing and practicing.
