With the development of economy, people’s requirements for the material and cultural life is improved increasingly, the traditional home furnishing life already can’t satisfy people’s needs, since the80’s of the last century, after the smart home was first proposed in the United States. With its safety, convenience, comfort, artistic and saving energy, smart home has been widely concerned and studied. With the development and popularization of the smart cellphone, using the cellphone as a handheld terminal of smart home system becomes a very potential choice. Now the product in this area is not much, so the research on it is very necessary.This paper uses the most popular cellphone system---Android as the research object, and puts forward a design scheme of a smart home control system that using Android cellphone as the handheld terminal. It select the embedded chip STM32F107as microprocessor, coupled with the peripheral circuit and interface circuit to build gateway hardware platform. The system adopts the module of Zigbee as the wireless communication module, and has data acquisition module from the sensor and controller module. Hand-held terminal communicates with the gateway through the GPRS/3G/WiFi network, and the gateway communicates with the home furnishing equipment and sensors through the Zigbee module, so as to realize the query, control and management of the home furnishing devices and sensors.In the software aspect, we study and design the communication between the gateway and home furnishing equipment, handheld terminal. Designing the handheld operation interface and the development of controlling function of the terminal through the Android SDK under the eclipse developing environment, whose main work includes building Android developing environment, designing the graphical user interface and a variety of controlling function on the cellphone terminal. Software features include user landing, the turning on/off of equipment, timing task, mode configuration and room configuration, we also develop the mutual function between terminals based on the Android cellphone’s own software and hardware resources.The system was tested on the handheld terminal, system operation is stable, the performance of the whole system is basically consistent with the expected goal, and has a high practical value.
