The Research&Countermeasures Of Public Health News Reports Of China

This paper collected all about public health news reports in China of2008-2011,selected1289News reports and commentaries as the samples of content analysis.Andresearching these public health reports in media’s quantities、types、themes、genres tendencyand key words.Research found that the biggest drawback of current public health reports is that themesimbalance. According to the definition of the scope of the China CDC on public health topics,health topics contained12categories which is: infectious diseases, public health emergencies,chronic non-communicable diseases and injuries, nutrition and food hygiene, environmentalhealth,occupational health poison control, radiation health, maternal and child health,vaccines and vaccination, health promotion(mainly tobacco), children and school health,bio-security. Contrasted the subject of news reports，this study found that media reportsfocused in infectious diseases, public health emergencies, nutrition and food hygiene andhealth promotion areas,which reported few in chronic disease topic.In July26,2011, the World Bank released a paper entitled”creating a healthy andharmonious life: to curb the Chinese epidemic of chronic diseases report.” Report found thatin China,chronic diseases which has beyond infectious diseases,has become the first killer ofthe threat to China’s national health. At also, more and more experts and scholars have alsopointed out that the increasingly serious trend of chronic diseases in China, and wish tostrengthen the media’s reports of chronic diseases. In this way, improve public health newsreporting are most imperative.Based on this, After analysis media’s report in above four themes.This paper iscommitted to search for the reason in a journalism view,and propose possible improvementsin media and government,to improve public health reports, to enhance the national healthsector’s work,to create a more harmonious and health lifestyle.
