The continuous development of Internet technology has brought us into the era ofweb2.0, the popularity of mobile phones and mobile terminals have also boosted thedevelopment of the mobile social networking (Mobile Social Network Sevice).The Map Island system is a social networking platform in the mobile wirelessenvironment. By employing the service of location-based searching, the systemprovides users with event information publication, discussion and searching, and alsoprovides the functionality of location-based random user matching and instantmessaging. Combining with multiple popular frontend technologies, it allows usersto access the system with any available device, and provides great user experience.The author is responsible for the design and implementation of the “TimeBox” and“RandomMatch” module.The contributions of this thesis include:(1) The design and implementation of the application layer of “TimeBox” and“RandomMatch” module is given. To further improve the efficiency of“RandomMatch”, an efficient matching algorithm is also provided.(2) According to the user behavior features, a scalability solution is presented,enabling horizontal scaling of the data layer.(3) The problem of availability of data storage is discussed. By employing theopen-souced software and technology, the detail strategy is given. And the detaildesign and implementation of the availability of the “TimeBox” and “RandomMatch”module is also described.(4) The detail design of database testing plan is presented, and the test isperformed with concrete test cases. Through the test, the feasibility of the presentedscheme is verified.Finally, a summary of the possible problems and the work need to be done in thefuture is given.
