Research On The Influence Of Nationalism On The Present College Students

Everyone belongs to a nation. In the framework of modernity, the nation is closely related withthe country, which is inherently political. Nationalism as a social thought which develops in a coreconcept of nation. It is an ideological campaign which maintains unity and identity based onChinese nation. The national identity is one of the goals of nationalism, and it is also an importantaspect which the present government is trying hard to establish and maintain. Besides, culturalidentity and political identity are important parts of national identity. But with the deepening ofglobalization, the multicultural gradually influence college students’ cultural identity; the fusion andsplitting, stimulus and response of nationalism in China, influence the emotional and behavior ofCollege Students’ political identity. As the precious human resources of national and state, CollegeStudents’ national identity is directly related to the development of the motherland’s prosperity andstability. Therefore, it will be very necessary and has great significance of combination nationalismwith College students. It will help the school to find out the status of college students of nationidentity, and follow up the perfect teaching management system, then help students establish thecorrect national identity.This paper mainly uses the literature research method and survey research method. Based on alot of nationalism theory, we conduct a questionnaire survey on the students from seven universitiesin Zhejiang province, using the SPSS17.0software. with the help of descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis, we research the influence of nationalism to contemporary college students,then found that:(1) The cultural identity, most college students have stable traditional culturalidentity; the majority of students are willing to accept western culture; Part members of collegestudents have the highest identity of the socialist core value system; They have a high degree ofidentity on the present promote energetically "China dream".(2)The political identity, mainly fromthe emotional and behavioral performance, most college students have the pride emotion of Chinesenation, have the sad love feelings of difficulties on compatriots, and have the hate emotions ofdestroy the national and country’s unity; most students like to use the new media network as ameans of delivering information expression, and the rational consciousness behavior tends to bedominant, and reflect the grade difference.(3) At the same time, we found that some students haveweak view of national emotion, narrow ideas still exist, and the cognitive are deviation. The reasonis, first of all, teachers of ideological and political theory courses, professional teacher and theinstructors are not well to meet the duty of mainstream ideology education. Secondly, differentprofessional background causes cognitive deviation of College students. Finally, hidden dangerexists in network communication.(4) In summary, in order to establish the right national identity on contemporary college students, we must strengthen the duties of the teachers of ideological andpolitical theory courses, professional teachers and the instructors, and formation the combine forceon mainstream ideology education.
