Study On Contemporary College Students’ National Security Education

To maintain national security is a sovereign state’s eternal goal.With the development ofglobalization, national security is different from any previous period: national security is notonly a political、military security and other traditional security; globalization has broughteconomic, ecology, science, technology information and other non-traditional security. Thecomplexities of national security problem demand the diversity solutions. Talents are neededto maintenance of national security national security awareness. Talents depend on education.So, to strengthen the national security education is an important way to maintain nationalsecurity.The nurturing of students national security awareness is the key of the while，nationaldefense education, which can obviously be seen from either China’ s national defenseconstruction or China’ s national security-environment. This is just as the sayings goes “Anordinary man is responsible for the rise or fall of a nation.”Or it is like “to think of danger inpeace”. At the present time, the current defense education mentions only a small part on theeducation and nurturing of college students’ national security awareness. This is far fromenough and is only facial theoretical infusion. It pays more attention to the traditionalthreatening elements, while less to college students’ new national security awareness nurturing.College students as the builders of the socialism in the future shoulder the historical missionof safeguarding state security. National security education in colleges and are not formedindependent system, content of the old, form stereotypes, concept behind and vulnerable tothe erosion of western bad thought college students themselves, all these led to the weakconsciousness of college students’ national security. So, countries should raise awareness ofcollege students’ national security, enhanced their abilities to strain in national securityproblems, therefore, college students’ national security education must be strengthened.The first part, defined at is national security and what is national security awareness.
