Research On The Cultivation Of National Security Awareness Of College Students

The1st Conference of Central National Security Council was hold on April15th,2014. On this conference, Chairman Xi emphasized that we should make clear the new features and new trends of our national security situation. We should focus on the Overall View of National Security, and take the China Characteristic Security Road. Carrying out the Overall View of National Security is the new request of the National Security Education on this new stage. As the main force of the socialist modernization and the reserved army of national defense, contemporary college students play an important role in national security. Their national security awareness directly relates to the safety and the survival of our nation. A Country and its people cannot last long without national defense. Since the national security problems are becoming more and more complex today, it is very important to cultivate the students’ awareness of national security and guide them to establish the concept of national security. Enhancing students’ national consciousness and national security concept, and at the same time improving their overall quality, are of great historical and practical significance to cultivate the qualified builders and reliable successors Chinese characteristic socialism. And finally we can realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation China dream.This paper mainly studies the cultivation of national security awareness on college students, and proposes a basic path of colleges and universities in cultivating students’ national security awareness. Using the literature research, comprehensive analysis, comparative analysis and other methods, this paper analyzes and discusses on the cultivation of College Students’ awareness of the main basis of the national security strategy and the important significance. This paper expounds the historical evolution of our national security strategy education thought, and points out that the class, the nationality and the modernity are the essential feature of the cultivation of College Students’ awareness of national security strategy. At the same time, by referring to the experience of security strategy consciousness education abroad, combined with the actual situation in China and the strategy of national security awareness education, this paper proposes to offer the courses of national defense education in patriotism and situation&policy education, and organizes students to participate in national defense education practice. Based on this situation, this paper proposes the education mode of "Four Combinations"(policy course, the military theory class, daily activities, and national defense education). Through knowledge studying, military theory class, daily life experiences, and national defense education, we can enhance the students’ awareness of national security strategy, strategy thinking, improve their overall competence and promote their comprehensive development.
