A Research On Agricultural Geography Of Qinghai Hehuang Region During Qing To Republic Dynasties

Agriculture is the foundation of ancient society economicdevelopment,agricultural historical geography study is an important part ofhistorical economic geography research.Qinghai Hehuang Region is located inthe northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with its moderate altitudeand heat, moisture condition,fertile land, good irrigation facilities, mildclimate, agricultural development has a long history.The agricultural reclamation and water conservancy construction ofHehuang region both got very big development during Mind and Qingdynasties,especially Qing and Republic Dynasties.The correspondingdevelopment laid a solid foundation for today’s agricultural geographydistribution pattern of Hehuang Region.On the other hand, the past severalhundred years of agricultural development damages the local naturalvegetation,and further weaken their resistance to natural disasters,whcih leadsto the frequent floods and droughts during the late Qing and Republicandynasties.What is more, with its turbulent social situation at thattime,agricultural development of Qinghai Hehuang region shows a weaksymbol.This thesis is to make a deep study on the population, agriculturedevelopment and water conservancy construction with application of the theoryand method of historical geography. And it will also make an analysis on thenatural environment evolution characteristics during this period,to show theagricultural historical geography overview of this region.The paper comprises three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. Thefirst part is the introduction,which introduces the topics of the paper, thedomestic research, research methods and the problems. The body part discussthe development of Qinghai population develpoment of this historical period,the water conservancy construction of Hehuang region, the agriculturedevelopment, the evolution of the region’s natural environment conditions,natural disasters and government relief. The conclusion will make a summary of this period of Qinghai Hehuang region agricultural development, takinghistory as a mirror and provide a reference for agricultural and economicdevelopment of the reality.
