Observation On Immediate Pain Relief For Blood Stasis Type Of Migraine With Abdominal Acupuncture

Objective:To observe the immediate pain relief for blood stasis type of migraine during the acute stage by two penetration methods, Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy and Normal Acupuncture Therapy, to provide a better scheme in treating migraine.Methods:57cases of migraine patients were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group (n=28) and the control group (n=29). The treatment group received Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy, while the control group received Normal Acupuncture Therapy. Each patient received only once, and was observed for end of treatment, half an hour,24hours after treatment, and evaluated the improvement of pain relief according to standard card scoring and indexing scoring methods.Results:(1) Scores compared before and end of treatment,0.5h,24h after treatment of both groups show no significant difference on the efficiency and pain relief (P>0.05).(2) Scores compared before and end of treatment,0.5h,24h after treatment of each group show significant difference(P<0.01).(3) In treatment group, scores of end of treatment compared with0.5h,24h after treatment show significantly difference (P<0.01), while between compare of0.5h and24h after treatment shows no significant difference (P>0.05).(4) In control group, scores of end of treatment,0.5h after treatment compared with24h after treatment show significantly difference (P<0.05), while scores of end of treatment compared with0.5h after treatment shows no significant difference (P>0.05).(5) Effective rates of0.5h after treatment compare between both groups shows no significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusions:(1) Both methods can release pain significantly.(2) There is no significant difference on pain relief of end of treatment,0.5h,24h after treatment and effective rates of0.5h after between two groups.(3) In treatment group, curative effects of0.5h and24h after treatment are better than end of treatment, and while curative effect of0.5h after treatment shows no different with24h after.(4)In control group, curative effect of 24h after treatment is better than end of treatment and0.5h after treatment, while curative effect of end of treatment shows no different with0.5h after treatment.(5) Abdominal Acupuncture Therapy choose less points, is applying simply and acceptable easily, and is significantly effective with no side effect. It is valuable to be advocated clinically.
