Clinical Observation On The Effect Of Upeer Airway Cough Syndrome(Wind-phlegm Obstruction Lung Syndrome) In Children Treated B Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang

Objective:In this study, we observed the clinical effect of Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang on upper airway cough syndrome (UACS) in children (Wind-phlegm obstruction Lung syndrome),designing to clarify the superiority of the treatment of UACS with the method of treating the Nasopharyngeal and lung at the same time. This study not only developed a new therapy approach on UACS in children,but also accumulated some material for its TCM therapy.Methods:In the study,60children patients with UACS aged above one were chosen to orally took the Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang,14days for one period of treatment. The changes and scores of the patients’symptoms and signs were observed before and after treatment. Then these materials were collected to conduct a statistical analysis for the therapy results.Results:According to the statistics,by the pre-and post-treatment auto-control, the Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang had evident clinic efficacy in improving the patients’major symptoms such as cough, postnasal drip, throat itching, pharynx foreign body sensation, throat sign,sneezing, rhinostegnosis,nasal discharge and rhinocnesmus, it also had obvious improvement in some secondary symptoms like nasal signs and somnus. The onset time of effectiveness was the shortest in improving cough and nasal discharge, and on the7th day of treatment,it had evident effect on throat physical sign,sneezing,nasal obstruction and nasal stiffness. In the study,60collected cases were obtained,3(5%)cases clinically controlled,34(56.7%) cases significantly effective,22(36.7%) cases effective,1(1.7%) case ineffective,the total effective rate was98.3%.Conclusion:The wind-phlegm obstruction lung syndrome is one of the common syndromes in children with upper airway cough syndrome, in the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, expelling wind and resolving phlegm can be used as the main method of treatment. The Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang has an evident efficacy in the earlier treatment of UACS in children. It can improve the main syndromes and some secondary syndromes,effectively improve the children’s life,study and sleep,which has shown the priority of traditional chinese medicine in the treatment of UACS in children.Yi-Xiong-Ma-Xing Tang uses the method of treating the Nasopharyngeal and lung together,effectively improving the child cough and Nasopharyngeal syndromes and physical signs. This is a treatment superiority that worth popularizing.
