Objective:Colorectal cancer is one of the common tumor in China, its incidencehas increased year after year.In recent years, the risk factors、diagnostic and prognosticfactors for colorectal cancer has been extensively explored by domestic and foreignscholars,a number of studies confirm that, carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate peptide antigen19-9(CA19-9),which were tested for hospitalizedpatients with suspected tumor marker routinely, have a higher reference value in thediagnosis of colorectal cancer[1,2],but the domestic study which research on thecorrelation between CEACA19-9and the prognosis in colorectal carcinoma is less.Toexplore the correlation between CEA、CA19-9levels in colorectal cancer patients andpathological indicators of colorectal cancer associated with colorectal cancer. The studyof106patients with colorectal cancer follow-up,analysis the serum values of CEA、CA19-9and the clinical significance in the prognosis in patients with colorectalcarcinoma. Methods: Select106cases patients with colorectal cancer who were hospitalizedin the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University during January2002~December2006, they were periodic fasting morning venous blood and followed upregularly, the electrochemical luminescence determination of CEA and CA19-9weretested.the CEA of CA19-9alone and combined expression were studied with thecolorectal cancer clinicopathological factors to study the respective positive rate、sensitivity、 specificity and accuracy, the CEA and CA19-9of patients with colorectalcancer recurrence or metastasis were detected alone and combination to analysis thecomparison of this two factors, by comparing the separate and combined expression ofCEA and CA19-9,we can analysis their influence on the PFS (progression-free survivalwithout disease progression free survival) and OS (overall survival overall survival) of patients with colorectal cancer. All the data using SPSS17.0software.Results:1.There was no statistical significance between the positive serumexpression of CEA、CA19-9and the sex, size, location, and tissue differentiation ofcolorectal cancer,P>0.05,but the age and surgical correlation are associated with theserum expression of CEA、CA19-9, statistical meaning, and we found that the positiverate of CA19-9and the combined positive expression of CEA and CA19-9areassociated with the number of lymph node metastasis relapse,P<0.05;2.The detectedpositive rate of the CEA, CA19-9which are independently tested and combined testedin the patients who have recurrence or metastasis, is much higher than that did not haverecurrence and metastasis,There are correlation between CEA、 CA19-9positiveexpression and colorectal cancer recurrence or metastasis,P<0.05;3.We analysis thesensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the relationship between the expression of CEA,CA19-9which are independently and jointly tested the recurrence and metastasis ofcolorectal cancer,In the individual tumor markers, the sensitivity of the CEA (72.7%) isthe highest, the specificity of CA19-9(90.0%) is the highest.Using the Parallel to thejointly detected method,if there will be only a positive tumor maker,it means a positivediagnosis, the sensitivity can be improved to84.8%,and the accuracy can be improvedto79.2%, Using the series of the Joint inspection method, which is that a positivediagnosis means the two tumor markers are all positive, the specificity can be Improvedto95.0%;4.The time from Detection of serum CEA and CA19-9were founded elevatedto the occurrence of recurrence or metastasis are short than separately detect both, thegap is significant, statistically significant, the combined detection of CEA and CA19-9are independently tested both earlier forecast of radical postoperative recurrence ormetastasis of colorectal cancer;5.Colorectal cancer patients whose CEA and CA19-9isindividually or jointly positive have shorter PFS and OS than who have a normal levelexpression of CEA and CA19-9which are independently and jointly,P<0.05.Conclusions:1.Separate detection of serum CA19-9and the combined detectionof CEA, CA19-9may become predictors of colorectal cancer therapy and whether thereare lymph node metastasis;2.In the individual tumor markers, the sensitivity of the CEAis the highest, the specificity of CA19-9is the highest.Using the Parallel to the jointlydetected method, the sensitivity can be improved, and the accuracy can be improved too,Using the series of the Joint inspection method, the specificity can be improved to behigher;3.We can get that the combined detection of CEA and CAl9-9expression canhelp to predict recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer;Combined detection of CEA and CA19-9are independently tested earlier to predict cure after surgery forcolorectal cancer recurrence or metastasis;4.The CEA, CA19-9may be predictors ofprogression-free survival and overall survival of colorectal cancer disease-free period.
