Objective:To find out the epidemiological status of obesity and related chronic disease among middle-aged and elderly land-lost peasants in LouFeng town in Suzhou Industrial Park, to study the relationship between obesity and related chronic disease, In order to provide convincing evidence for early prevention and timely intervention of chronic disease in land-lost peasants.Method:The cluster random sampling method was used to select three communities in LouFeng town. The paper took land-lost peasants over the age of45as research object and used local urban residents over the age of45as control, then performed a cross-sectional analysis of the healthy records in2011of land-lost peasants and urban residents. the healthy records include:general situation (age, gender, nationality, etc.), Medical History, Body Height, Body Weight, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, Blood Triglycerides, etc. this paper adopts the SPSS17.0statistical software for data analysis. The comparison between the two groups used t test. The comparison of the rate used chi-square test. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyses the relationship between BMI, WC of these peasants and related chronic disease.Result:The present data demonstrates(1)The overweight rate of middle-aged and elderly land-lost peasants was44.2%and the obesity rate was18.2%, and in different age groups, there was gender difference in the obesity rate; The rate of central obesity was47.85%, and the detection rate in women group was higher than the men group(P<0.05).(2)In these peasants, the prevalence rate of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia were43.49%,9.20%and55.47%respectively.(3) The detectable rates of overweight, obesity and central obesity were significantly higher than these of urban residents control group(P<0.05).(4) With the increase of body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC),the detectable levels and the prevalence rate of hypertension, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia rise in different degrees. BMI effects the prevalence rate of hypertension obviously, the hypertension rate of obese is1.85times the rate of the people with normal BMI; WC effect the prevalence rates of diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia obviously, the diabetes mellitus rate and hyperlipidemia rate of obese are respectively1.85times the rates of the people with normal WC.Conclusion:(1) The prevalence of obesity and related chronic disease among these peasants is quite high.(2) BMI and WC are closely related to chronic disease. Therefore, the control of body weight and belly fat is of great importance for prevention of such chronic diseases.(3)In order to prevent and control occurrence and epidemic of chronic disease, we should carry out intervention on the land-lost peasants whose BMI and WC is above normal...
