The Research And Design Of Conservation And Restoration Of The Ancient Buildings Complex Of Shuang-Gui-Tang Temple

This dissertation is a research branch of Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC)<Research of architectural forms on thecliff caves in the Tang and Songdynasties>(No.51108475).As the original temple of the Zen Buddhism in Southwest China,Shuang-Gui-Tang Temple has possessed a sublime status in the history of theBuddhism in China. The ancient buildings complex of Shuang-Gui-TangTemple,whose characteristics have been the reflections of the application of design techniques,construction methods and decorative art of the regional architecture of Sichuan andChongqing since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, show an academic significance in theresearch of their values. Meanwhile, basing on the thorough understanding andanalysis of the characteristics, it is a practical exploration to study the consevation andrestoration of the ancient buildings complex of Shuang-Gui-TangTemple for theapplication of the retention of architectural style and the strategy of conservationg andrestoration in other cases. Therefore the study on this thesis is not only of highresearching value in academic, but also possesses important practical significance.This paper, focusing on the subject of the ancient buildings complex ofShuang-Gui-TangTemple, through the actual surveying and mapping study, analyzesthoroughly the Humanistic and Architectural characteristics of them. In order toinvestigate the conservation value of them, this paper brings out the present problemswithin the Temple and the surrounding settings. This paper also puts the conservationand restoration of the ancient buildings complex of Shuang-Gui-TangTemple into thebackground of the history, comparing the concept of home anf abroad along with theanalysis of the practices, brings out the concept aiming at the situation of protectionand restoration of Shuang-Gui-TangTemple. Departure from the concept, the keyissues in the conservation and restoration, and study their respective strategies. Finally,the technical measures do Shuang-Gui-TangTemple built heritage conservation andrestoration of ancient buildings analyzed and discussed. Text consists of six chaptersChapter I. Introduction. This chapter review of the course of development of thebuilt heritage conservation and restoration, protection and restoration of the concept ofthe core substance cognitive recognized.
