Software Design Of Smart Home System Based On Internet Of Things

Smart Home is one of the most important applications of Internet of Things in the field of home life; it makes the home life convenient and efficient by implement the communication between people and things, things and things. Smart Home can improve the living quality of home life greatly.This paper presents a Smart Home system solution using the Internet of things and introduces the soft design of the Smart Home system. The Smart Home system can be sectioned into three parts:wireless sensor network, embedded smart gateway and Information processing platform.Wireless sensor network is the underlying level of the Smart Home system, its main work is to sensor the environmental parameter of the house and the automation control of the electrical equipment in the house. It can also support the RFID access control and camera monitor. The major technical of the wireless sensor network is ZigBee. In this paper, the wireless sensor network is developed based on the ZStack protocol stack and the wireless chip CC2430. The main function of the wireless sensor network is the real time monitoring of temperature and humidity, the real time control of the motor and electric valve, the RFID access control and the camera monitor.Embedded smart gateway is the core of the Smart Home system; its main work is to exchange the data of wireless sensor network and Information processing platform. It also provides the user interface to check sensor data and control the equipment for users. Embedded smart gateway adopts the embedded Linux technology, the development platform is Qt. The gateway communicates with the wireless sensor network by the serial port and communicates with the information processing platform by the TCP socket.Information processing platform is responsible for the gather and store of data. It also provides the user interface for data check and equipment control on PC. The information processing platform is developed by Labwindows/CVI, the data is stored in the MySQL data base.This Smart Home system simulates the following three scenarios:environment sensor, equipment control and Home security. This system can basic meet the requirements of the smart home. The research and development of Smart Home system can bring great convenience to people and will be of great importance to promote the development of information industry and improve the living quality.
