With the rapid socio-economic development and Internet technology, control technology, information and communication technology and other advances in technology, and the sustained improvement of people’s living standards, the relationship between people’s daily life and information is becoming closer. How to make people have a safe, comfortable, energy-saving and convenient home environment has become the development trend of future household life, smart home control system came into being. Smart home control system is based on the residential district as a platform environment, conbined with computer technology, automatic technology, embedded software and hardware technology, wireless communication technology at an organic whole. Achieve the goal of in close or remote control home applicance equipment and real-time monitoring the status of home applicance by users.Based on the analysis of the shortcomings and development process of domestic and foreign smart home control system, an ARM9processor-based smart home control system is proposed in this thesis. It has changed the charicteristics of trodational smart home control system of writing difficulties, poor mobility, high cost of design system complexity and inhuman, the Wi-Fi technology and RF technology cleverly integrated into the whole system, make the whole system more flexible, simple control variable and control precision. Major research is as follows:(1) This thesis outlined the history of the development of smart home, the research status and the development trends, analysis the feasibility of the whole system, including the based theory, the system performance parameters and other settings.(2) The working principle and selection of the Wi-Fi module were researched, especially how to extend on smart home control terminal and how to exchange home applicance control information with PAD or smart phone.(3) The working principle of RF radio frequency was researched, especially the selection of the radio frequency chip, the design of the wireless RF module and to build the family internal wireless commnication network system. (4) Firstly, the section of the ARM processor and the core board were researched. Then, intensive study was made on the kernel of Linux operating system, memory management system, process management, file management system, device management of Linux operating system, the design of human-computer interaction interface based in Qt, the modification and transplantation of the U-Boot file, the Linux kernel file and the file system, and write and load the dirver program of each function module and so on.(5) The wireless communication protocol was designed, including communication between PAD or smart phone and smat home control terminal, communication between smart home controlling terminal master control chip and the wireless RF sever which installed on the terminal, and communication between the wireless RF sever and the wireless RF terminal which installed on applicances.After a long period of testing, the smart home control system mentioned in this thesis can meet the users’requirements for a smart, convenient, reconfigurable and humanized household environment. It achieves the goal of interconnection between different applicans and centralized supervison and management of applicance status information.
