With the constant development of the resolution and frame frequency of the CCDimage sensor, the rate of signal transmission between the imaging system and framegrabber become more important. Therefore, it’s important to study high-speed imageacquisition and transmission system. The Camera Link interface, as a bus interface ofimage data transfer, solves the question of rate matching between video data outputtingand grabbing because of its advantage at the transmission rate and transmission distance.The subject of this paper is just to design an image acquisition and transmission systembased on the Camera Link interface.In this thesis, the working principle and the protocol of the Camera Link interface,and the principle of the LVDS technology, which used in Camera Link interface, weredescribed in detail. Then the hardware circuits and the software programs are designedin this paper, while the FPGA was taken as the main controller, specifically includingthe FPGA circuit design, the image data cache unit design, the image data output unitdesign and interface control unit design etc. In addition, the functional simulation andactual test of the main unit in this system were made in this paper, the simulation andtest results indicated that the system obtained expected functions and was capable ofcompleting image data acquisition and transmission.
