In recent years, the increasing complexity of SoC, makes heavy pressure to reduce time to market. The biggest difference between SoC and ASIC is that thesystem characteristics of the SoC to achieve the specific application functions, withbuilt-in software and peripheral devices. Therefore, to fully verify the functionality, the traditional software-based simulation has been unbearable.Rapid System Prototyping (Rapid System Prototype), hardware prototyping has become a common means of pre-verification of SoC design flow. The essence of prototyping is to quickly achieve the SoC design.Software running on real hardware on high-speed SoC design to verify hardware and software. The technology is based on prototyping system. Prototyping system consists of two parts: hardware systems, FPGA-based prototype circuit. This paper will examine the FPGA-based prototyping method. Include:the scope of the prototyping, the flow of prototyping, the project implementation strategy, prototype system hardware design, SOC and FPGA circuitversion conversion, timing closure optimization method, the selection of the IP, and finally by an Near Field Communication prototype verification project to prove the validity of the above methods.
