Research And Design On IPTV Technology

Telecommunication network, CATV network and Computer network are three basic networks for the development of information industry. With the rapid development of network technology, the traditional business services cannot meet customers’demands. The traditional mode of watching TV is attacked by the behavior of watching TV on the operator’s network. The introduction of the "triple play" policy allows operators to enter the field of IPTV services.The strengths of IPTV and traditional TV promotes the integration of Internet industry and television industry, and the market potential demand is imminent. How to seize the opportunity and develop IPTV to increase ARPU value are the most important research points for the operators.Firstly, the background of IPTV and the current development status of IPTV are introduced briefly. Then, the features of IPTV were analyzed through the comparison with the digital TV. Thirdly, from a technical point of view, the platform architecture of IPTV and its functions, the key technologies are explained, and the network construction strategies, business development strategies,network building solutions and principles are proposed for operators. At last, based on the above results, a specific planning scheme on IPTV construction for xx operator is put forward.
