The era of mobile interconnection has arrived. A variety of high-speed wireless applications are changing people’s way of life. As the wireless bandwidth continues to improve, a fundamental change for people’s way of fetching information is taking place now. The communication at anytime and anywhere is becoming possible. Mobile communication will become an information converge stage. In order to further improve the quality of the mobile communication network, the network introduces wireless coverage enhancement technologies including Home NodeB, Home eNodeB and Relay, to solve the wireless coverage issues for mobile communication network.Because Home NodeB, Home eNodeB and Relay have their own unique features different with normal NodeB and eNodeB, the existing network management information models are not apply for these coverage enhancement technologies. For the effective management of the networks using such wireless coverage enhancement technology, it is needed to research the network management information modeling for these coverage enhancement technologies based on their special network layout and deployment characteristics. The paper firstly introduces the backgrounds of wireless coverage enhancement technologies Home NodeB, Home eNodeB and Relay, describes their network architectures, and analyzes the necessity of wireless coverage enhanced technology oriented network information modeling. The paper then carries out the network management information modeling for Home NodeB Sub-system, Home eNodeB Sub-system and Relay technology based on their network layout characteristics. The paper divides each modeling process into four parts: (1) Network Management Requirements Study. This part nails down the management scope of the network and analyzes the management requirements of each managed object. (2) Configuration Network Management Information Modeling. This part defines the necessary network information object classes, their attributes and the relationships of them, to provide support for configuration management. (3) Performance Network Management Information Modeling. This part defines appropriate performance measurements for the network, to provide support for performance management. (4) XML based Implementation of the Network Management Information Model. This part describes the network management information model using XML.Through the work above, the paper completes the wireless coverage enhancement technology oriented network management information modeling, which can provide support for the management of wireless coverage enhanced networks and will be helpful for business management, the analysis of network performance, the evolution of network service quality and the definition of network optimization solution.
