According to the shortcomings of the mechanical roots flowmeter, this paperdeveloped a digital intelligent head of roots flowmeter which is based on MSP430single chip. This kind of flowmeter realizes high accurate measurement on the basisof low power consumption.In this paper, the principle of the positive displacement flowmeter measurementis combined with low power consumption MSP430F149 single chip. The hardwarecircuit of this system works reliablely and the efficiency of software code is high. Theoperational amplifiers and clock chip are accorded with the system demand of lowpower consumption. Especially, in the acquisition of flow signal, we choose wigandsensor, which is zero power consumption sensor. The use of wiegand sensor canmeasure the flow accurately. At the same time, the sensor does not consume electricenergy of the system. According to the effects of the temperature and the pressure, thispaper makes the gas compensation in real-time. The compression factor Z is used inthis compensation. And this way improves the accuracy of the measurement greatly.In addition, according to the relationship between pulse frequency and meter factor,the meter factor is revised in subsection, and the factor gains the exact data. In thispaper, there is standard current output module and RS485 communication module,and the system can communicate conveniently with PC. The design of LCD moduleprovides a friendly man-machine interface. The keyboard operation is simple, and theuser can modify parameters and check the time at any time.Through the theoretical analysis and the field experiments, we can prove thatsuch flowmeter can realize precise measurements based on low power consumption.Its development prospect is very good.
